Thats giving premo too much credit. Premiers biggest fault was giving garbage mcs a pass. Group home anyone? I mean least rza gave them lower geoups to his students premier has given everyone in hip hop a beat. No selectivity which hurt him imo.

Id say rza as only actual goats have worked with rza.

Pun and Big... neither of these solo tracks are among their best work. If you were to pick top 5 Pun songs, you wouldn't put Tres Leches. That beat is decent at best, and I'm a RZA fan. RZA was never good at giving people beats outside the clan. In fact, can't think of a single RZA song outside The Clan that I would consider great. Long Kiss Goodnight... meh. Again, not a top 5 Biggie song. Premo's work with Big is top 5 Big material hands down.

When you mention Nas, are we counting features? Because Nas never had a solo track with RZA production.

Jay/Kanye - RZA's beat is not their strongest work by a long shot.

Mobb Deep have a track produced by RZA?

BDK, Kool G, Snoop and Busta? They all have solo tracks produced by RZA? They're probably not very good. I've never heard of any of them.

Ice Cube. Cube never rapped over a DJ Premier beat and he's the best MC/rapper to come from the West. Easily a top 5 MC/rapper.

Breh that's my favourite pun song production is top notch but ur entitled to ur opinion. If you really think bout it that's the best beat rzas ever given anybody outside of wu. 3 verses placed perfectly on a top tier rza beat with all legends. Premo and rza are both top 5. Rza has the albums there's no doubting that and premo has more variety of artists where he has some of the best songs just no albums in entirety. There's no real right answer. I would take rza tho just cuz of the albums he's produced. Premo has more longevity tho.

I didn't say the Hov/Premo tracks were bad, they're great. The point is that a rapper can have an amazing catalog of albums or songs without Premo. Take D'Evils and Premo's other tracks from RD and it's still a great album. Jay is still Jay, The Blueprint still would exist, etc.

Scarface has top 5 quality catalog, no Premo beats; I'm not counting the Khaled collab. Andre 3k never worked with Premo. Ice Cube has two of the best/most important classic albums in rap...never worked with Premo.

Im not talking about straight solos just working period. Kool g rap/rza cakes is a classic.all have been featured with rza.

That beat's not that great. The Rakim vocals sample makes the shyt seem iller than it actually is. I prefer the Large Professor remix.

as for the bolded, that's my whole point. You can't say that the stuff with non-deserving rappers cancels it out A lot of those unknown rappers ended up making great songs. Some were straight trash but so is life
