Your belief in the impossible is based on doubt. You must have faith because you literally don’t know. Could be true, could not be, but you choose true. Fine. But no such dichotomies exist in the realm of knowledge. 3x6=18. I don’t believe this, I know this. See the difference?

And what most people “believe” is simply what they’ve been taught since birth and is now their core principle. Would their beliefs be the same if they grew up being taught a different faith? The odds say no.

BTW I never said anything about what I believe I just pointed out the irony of a post. We must learn to differentiate between our beliefs and knowledge. You may believe something about me because you were emotionally charged when your core values were questioned. But you don’t know anything about me, what I believe or what I know.

You can not compare a math equation to events that happened in the past. Anything that someone tells you happened in the past was not witnessed by you. The math equation is seen and figured by all.

I see your point, but belief is not an emotion. If someone told you they ate fries today, whether they lied or not, your beliving that has nothing to do with feelings. You're mostly indifferent but you still believe it.

I contend that belief is an emotion. It acts just like one. It’s certainly backed by emotion. Like emotions, belief is how we choose to feel about something.
Back to my original reason for posting in this thread: the modern day believer’s belief is not in the scripture or the writers of the scripture but rather in those who teach what the translators and interpreters say the original source said and meant. That’s a lot of degrees from knowledge.

It makes me think what are my truths and if there is emptiness in it
