I been thinking about this shyt for a good 2 weeks. This dude on a documentary about hunting was going on about how even being miserable as fukk sitting in the rain waiting for a deer or some shyt to walk by, it was still Level 2 fun and the BEST fun.
Level 1 fun is instant gratification. Hitting the club, drinking, watching a good movie on TV, pulling a thot you give zero fukks about, etc. shyt you do and almost immediately forget about most of it. None of that stuff really sticks with you because it wasn't really an adventure; not struggle involved. Level 1 fun is kind of a waste of time because it doesn't leave you lasting memories.
Now Level 2 fun is like life. You struggle to get to a goal and reach that moment of triumph. Say you go on a trip to the Bahamas. There's the planning, the saving, dealing with customs and getting a passport, checking into a hotel, tehn after all that you hit the beach and enjoy a view you'd never see at home for 1/2 a day. That sticks with you forever. You never forget that because it came at a cost.
Reason it fukked with me is because for the longest time I blew off Level 2 fun as a waste of time. "Why waste $500 going to Vegas when all we're going to do is the same shyt we do here?"
But, "here" isn't an adventure. I think about the best memories I have and it's not some night at the club or pulling a dime that one night, it's about a long trip that had points that were boring or painful as fukk, but had highlights. Even when I got in a wreck on a trip, that was a better memory than any night clubbing.
Best recent memories I have are long distance trips on my motorcycle. Sometimes I was riding in the rain cold and wet, ass was sore from sitting on a bike all day, but you never forget that adventure and all the small sights and smells along the way.
