So this hoverboard can only be used on certain tracks.

I'm not an engineer but why doesn't someone just make a piezoelectric (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piezoelectricity) hoverboard where the pressure of the person standing on it generates electricity, and that electricity is then used to power a rocket/thruster that lifts the board a couple of inches/feet off the ground. And then maybe use your iphone to steer it.....I don't know...
