Real talk,....

If lavar was really paying attention and knew college bball to the NBA like how he says. He would have seen to send gelo to duke as that was the program given his skill set he would have probably turned into and ramped jnto a serviceable pro. Real talk,...if he went to duke I could have seen gelo ramping and being a jj redikk. If lavar was smart he would have sought out Quentin Richardson for gelo as an advisor. As Richardson was exactly the type of inside outside based high school pf.
that converted into a serviceable pro as a spot up shooter.
Plus dealt with admin issues in college and still materialized as a pro with no actual position at all.
Yet since the ball family does no market research outside of stealing kobe, boost and Jordan twenty low mockups for the melos shoes. This family has no upside now.
Plus, no way to ramp from successfully creating a discoveryzone built off of past successes in their industry. They could not even become the next top draw in shoes and had the supposed grant hill fila team[imo, I think it was the later fila hill team. that botched the design of the later hill shoes and not the fila hill one based off the Jordan nine].

You think he's better than Gary Trent Jr.? yeah I don't think Gelo is as athletic as 37 year old Quentin Richardson

He basically does everything Klay Thompson does. Solid defender, solid shooter, doesn't really go for highlight plays or moves...

There are worse things to be other than the poor mans Klay Thompson in this fukking NBA. But I'll leave it to you experts in here thats barely watched him play one game and are nba draft exerts as well.

He reminds me of a cross between Kawhi and Lebron. Like Kawhi he's not quite ready yet but he has the work ethic and all the physical tools and could really advance in a few years even if he's raw for now. Yet like Lebron he's had to deal with more media exposure than anyone else in his draft and has shown he does not just handle the pressure but thrives in such situations. Yes, he's made some mistakes, but so did Lebron yet now you see Lebron's name being mentioned among the all-time greats just as I suspect you'll see LiAngelo's name there before his chapter is over.

I was just trying to fit in. :troll:

Here were my actual scouting reports on Gelo:

He is not an elite shooter.

Last year he shot like 37% as a 6'5" guy in high school who was getting wide-open and cherry-picking threes all the time. He's had a good run in Lithuania but it's still an easy shorter line and most of the guys defending him are weary from digging coal all day. That does not translate to NBA-elite shooting ability. He's got Lonzo's ability with better form and worse athleticism.

Did you see what kind of %'s he was shooting in high school? He was 6'5" shooting from the high school line, getting half his shots on cherry-picking and being left open due to the attention given both his brothers and Okongwu, and he still wasn't cracking 40%. If you can "shoot the hell out of the ball", then how come you can't shoot 40% from the high school line when you 6'5" taking open shots? :usure:

He's a good shooter for high school, but the # of guys coming out of high school who can shoot the ball as well or better than Liangelo are legion.

You're absolutely right.

I was looking at Irvine's roster, and they got 4 talented swingmen Liangelo's size who would get minutes ahead him this year and next (people would be surprised at how often UC Irvine nails 3* recruits). Three of them are sophomores this year...which means that Liangelo MIGHT be able to get minutes his junior year IF he shows a great deal of improvement and passes them up. Or maybe not.

And that's UC Irvine. :francis:

LiAngelo even going to do anything for Cal State Northridge? Why would you want a guy who has no athleticism, doesn't play defense, and hits threes at a 30% clip?

For all we know Lavar set him up on some Godfather stuff. He said himself that one of these boys wasn't going to make it...that probably hurt LiAngelo's feelings, Lavar saw some Fredo-type play on the horizon, and decided to knock him to the side to make sure he couldn't get in the way of Sonny and Michael.
