LaVar's an examplary black man we should be proud of. We're conditioned to think 'oh brother.. just be docile, don't scare the white massa' but fukk that shyt. He put them boys on the map, he put his family on the map, he challenged Nike and Adidas and Zo became a Laker.

No! No! No!

You think the only other option's Lavar had was to be docile? There is a lot of grey area between what he is, and being docile.

You can be vocal about your kids, and be very aggressive in business, and not say a bunch of outlandish shyt 'cause you think it'll get attention.

A father of a top collegiate prospect, and at least one other son with legit pro-potential could get cameras in his face if he's talking his kids up. There is a line, tho'.

Frankly, I think he went too far. It got to a point where he was seen as a joke. Like I said, he could've been a strong, aggressive father without all of the buffoon antics.

I promise you the white man is more scared of THAT father than Lavar Ball, who they don't take overly serious to begin with.

..and of course he wasn't invited. Only the the top collegiate guys are invited, and dude wasn't expected to come in and be a star at UCLA. Not immediately, anyway. He was never on the NBA's radar, and in general, if you're not on the NBA radar by your senior season of HS, you're 9 times out of 10 not going to the NBA.

Liangelo not lonzo or melo so he won't be a needed commodity.

He be lucky to be a second rounder at best anyway. He can actually play tho

Melo will be drafted probably lottery.

So lavar got two players in.

Liangelo got a spot in the family buisness if it don't go right.

No losses

Hope he doesn’t get discouraged if he doesn’t make it. It’s plenty of other things he could be doing to make money because of LaVarr making the family name big

there was a rumor once that Lavar had modeling in mind for LiAngelo if bball didnt work:dead:

I wonder if LiAngelo wants to play ball as much as Zo and the youngest one.

He got in shape this year and showed some impressive play in Lithuania (whatever that means).

Playing ball doesn't seem optional, becoming a Laker doesn't seem optional. BUT some NBA players seem like they barely want to be there, it could just be his body langauge.

LaVar's an examplary black man we should be proud of. We're conditioned to think 'oh brother.. just be docile, don't scare the white massa' but fukk that shyt. He put them boys on the map, he put his family on the map, he challenged Nike and Adidas and Zo became a Laker.

I think some experience and great coaching, in a good system could be very beneficial for him.

Honestly, I'd like to see him come off the bench in LA as an LWO breh.. if only to show cacs that a black man can set a goal and achieve it (that being LaVar)

I think LiAngelo wants to play ball....his coach in Lithuania was raving about him and his maturity, work ethic, etc. Even said that LiAngelo would get on Lamelo in practice. All the shyt I heard/read from their time out there was LaMelo acting dumb but LiAngelo acting reaI serious. think the China thing woke him up.

But the reality is no one had LiAngelo slated to make the NBA anyway. From the beginning all the talk was the Li was the worst one.

If LaMelo doesn't get any serious looks from NBA teams when the time comes, that'll be concerning. I dont like how Lavar lets LaMelo think he doesn't have to listen to anybody but him. LaMelo plays and acts like a clown because he thinks as long as his dad praises him its ok. I feel like maybe Lonzo or LiAngelo should try to get on LaMelo too since they know Melo can't just lean on dad, but who knows maybe they do?

I'm sorry but Lavar messed this up.
LiAngelo should be at UCLA taking classes and working on a degree that will help that BBB brand while still playing on the team (let's be honest, it was always a long-shot that he would make the NBA).
Melo should be in high school playing ball and being a teenager.

He will get a chance to workout for teams, and can even try out for Gleague, now it's up to him to take advantage. But Lavar does hurt him, guys like Lonzo are too good that you can ignore Lavar, but you don't need LiAngelo

edit: this was meant for LiAngelo not Melo..

Melo is one of the top 10 guys for his class, he will definitely get drafted, but he is so undisciplined when it comes to basketball. Lavar's biggest mistake is not giving him a real coach and letting him do whatever he wants.

Melo was never a top 10 for his class. He was only rated in the top 10 for his position in his class. Not top 10 overall. Big difference. And his stock has dropped a lot since the hype.
