Read the book, "THe Business of Black Power" it details how and why capitalism fails minorities and is only made for the top 1 percent of the nation; it shows how blacks have tried throughout history to embrace capitalism and support black businesses for decades, but it failed because capitalism DOES NOT ALLOW too many players on the field...plus we are community people and capitalism is inherently creates top down systems where the majority will always be working class and poor...that is WRONG. IF A PERSON WORKS AND CREATES CAPITAL BUT ONLY RECEIVES A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF THAT CAPITAL, that is evil; Plus, its a racist capitalist system and that is a historical truth.

Read Du Bois's Black Reconstruction then try and argue the point you just made. Its impossible.[DOUBLEPOST=1397432758][/DOUBLEPOST]

Exactly and in this country, it has OVERWHELMINGLY violated blacks more than any other group here

You still haven't said answer my question about a better system. Why? because there isn't.

There was a black lady named Eula McClancy who started off as sharecropper and become a millionaire that wouldn't have happen in any other system.[DOUBLEPOST=1397433846][/DOUBLEPOST]
Capitalism only works for the 1 percent and since you have trouble with reading comprehension and interpretative skills, I've always argued that racism and capitalism, which is racial capitalism (since capitalism was built on the slave trade and slavery) are connected. Once you read up then you can discuss with me, but you are a novice here[DOUBLEPOST=1397433642][/DOUBLEPOST]

Exactly. OP got their knowledge from third party racists that know nothing of how affirmative action works

There was capitalism before the slave trade.

Thats not capitalism.

And capitalism wasn't based on the slave-trade. Get your head out of your ass.

Capitalism is a system, not a euphemism for an act within that system, i.e. the slave trade.

And this "1 percent" thing is a vapid talking point.

You don't have to be rich to be a capitalist. Ask most small business owners and the self-employed.

I think he wants everyone to get paid the same amount no matter the skill.

Wow, one black person became a millionaire?????? REALLY?????? Wow, that is so cool, so she opened businesses, like the 1 percent, that employed minorities to make 1 percent of the capital that they produced...so how does one black person becoming a millionaire while the other 99 percent of the black population live in poverty or check to check prove your case?

And you still haven't demonstrated why capitalism is the best system when 99 percent of the nation makes only 1-5 percent of the capital they produce and are exploited in numerous ways in labor disputes....please tell me...

And the best system is traditional Marxist-Leninist system that Du Bois advocated...not the garbage that Stalin or Castro or the other idiots did...but traditional Marxism is the best place to start; we have to incorporate new technology, etc. but CAPITALISM DOES NOT WORK FOR ANYONE OTHER THAN 1 PERCENT OF THE NATION and there is no evidence to the contrary.

Have you even read Du Bois?[DOUBLEPOST=1397434260][/DOUBLEPOST]

You are an idiot if you don't know that the slave trade created capitalism. Sorry dude, but you don't understand economics or history. You aren't built for this conversation. Go back to fighting religious people with your bullshyt charts and graphs. let the real thinkers discuss things here.

Numbers say otherwise. DO you even know how many blacks are part of the ownership in this country? :flabbynsickfrancis:Or are you afraid to actually read the data and the history that shows this?

1. Dubois was a socialist. I'm not. Especially since dubois didn't get to live to see the USSR, China, Vietnam, Cuba, etc.

2. None of this addresses the racial progress that has since taken place

3. none of this shows you understand what capitalism is

4. yes, rich people tend to make more money. Thats what happens

5. and I'm going to disagree with your "the best system is traditional marxist-leninist" etc...because I honestly don't want that. Equality for me stops at human rights and civil rights. Economic rights, i.e. socialism don't exist to me.[DOUBLEPOST=1397434512][/DOUBLEPOST]

Capitalism is what happens when the government protects individual property and doesn't demand complete control over a citizens output. That has nothing to do with slavery.

and your comment highlights why so many POOR people turn to socialism as a way to solve everything.

numbers can lie.
Many people waste time everyday w/ bullshyt.
How many folks do you know spend their days learning ways to make money? Investing...reading books...failing and learning from those mistakes?

The majority of this country is fat...is that because its so hard being thin, or are people just lazy?

These two things prove that we can't have a discussion on this. We disagree because I argue that Neo-Marxism is a much more beneficial system for all peoples that produce capital. My argument is based on historical knowledge, trends, data, and theory. You not acknowledging Marxist ideas as "existent" proves you are not ready to engage in serious debate on race, capitalism, and economics. Just like your other rants, you refuse to actually read and understand the other side, you dismiss. So I'm done with you on this topic.

Man this conversation seems oddly dated and out of touch. I mean it was just this past week where the internets were going wild over Thomas Piketty's new book which essentially said that capitalism ain't shyt and how it really only works for the offensively wealthy and is very unlikely in the future to yield opportunities and wealth for the rest of the population.

But y'all keep going :mjpls:

I actually study law and it seems that he opposes Affirmative Action in General. How can someone who GREW UP during integration and actually LIVED through the struggles that blacks had to go through just to achieve EQUALITY oppose Affirmative Action? :dahell:

Clarence Thomas is a fakkit. He benefited from Affirmative Action. He wouldn't have gotten into Yale Law without it but, had the nerve to oppose it years later.

:russ:Do you even know why people in this country have certain body types? They are called preservatives and additives that the government allows food corporations to let in to everything we eat; This allows the capitalists to make more profit using cheap labor and ingredients. That shyt is killing us and fukking up our bodies...There is a new great documentary called "FED UP" that is coming out next month that I think you should see...trailer is up already; Powerful stuff[DOUBLEPOST=1397434892][/DOUBLEPOST]

NO.

1. stop committing to absolutes. It doesn't work and it sucks

2. You don't undersatnd neo-marxism

3. I HONESTLY do not want this sort of equality. I work for mine and I want to keep it. Period.

You seem to think that anyone who disagrees with you doesn't understand you...which is false.

I understand everything you learned in your freshman classes...I just inherently disagree with you because I do not hold your arguments to either be valid, or substantiated.

1. History is NOT a source of policy, but rather a source of information.

2. I don't acknowledge marxism because I don't like what it stands for. I support equality in terms of existence, not in terms of economic opportunity

3. you're trying to inject race into EVERYTHING and it hurts your argument. Do better.
