The only thing is i feel like the the fear for my life excuse they often use would be thrown out the window in court, Since these are disposable objects.
A judge gonna let them off for murder because he feared for his drone? Seems like this might make it harder for them to get away with murder since they will never be in danger of imminent death while using these bots.

Here's an interesting twist that I've been thinking about. All of these companies are striving hard to get people into the metaverse. Sword Art Online is an anime in which a new MMORPG is released and in order to play it, you have to put on a VR headset. However, once you put on the headset, you can't take it off or else you die. The only wat to take off the headset is if you beat the MMORPG. If you die in the game, you also die in real life. The creator of oculus has made a headset that serves the same function in real life.


I can imagine a time in the future where everyone is mandated to put on their VR headsets for an allocated time of day to get their daily dose of propaganda and all of these headsets are equipped with killing mechanisms and if your social credit score gets too low, you get zapped.
