...on this first day of libra season i got a story to tell to theeeeeee
my family was always moving around right up until my last year of jr. high. fast forward to my freshmen year in high school, i cliqued with some other freshmen bruhs, and we got tight. first month of school, one of the homie's birthday came up, and they all remembered from prior years because they all went to jr. high together--where as i went to jr. high in another city. long story short they told me we were to lump his ass up when we saw him that morning.

i was taken aback. i'm like "this is our boy, it's his birthday, we should be dapping him up, not stumping him out. what part of garland did y'all grow up in...south central?" needless to say, dude stayed home sick that day, so they got him the next day. i didn't partake, i just watched and laughed. i must admit, it was kind of amusing seeing him run from us all day.
september came and went with no birthdays, then libra season hit. now remember i said they all went to the same jr. high, so i learned of their birthdays from them. i didn't know anyone in high school from years past, so they weren't privy to my birthday. i wasn't going to tell them either. i was just going to pretend like it was a normal day. the terrible thing is, my birthday fell in the middle of the week that year, so they had two more days to get me if they didn't that wednesday.

i remembered how they tuned up our broski just two months earlier, so i wasn't trying to experience that s**t. i couldn't burn through any of my sick days just yet, i liked to save them for the middle of the year, so i just played the day cool.
remember i said my family moved around a lot when i was younger, right? back in one of the years we were moving around, i went to this one elementary school for a year. all of the schools i had gone to, i never saw any of those kids again after that year....until now. at one school i was in class with this white girl who stood out because she had a british accent.
i thought this little tea 'n crumpet would have moved back to the UK by the time we got to the 9th grade, why was she in one of my high school classes? in class we'd chop it up and caught up on all of the s**t we'd done since elementary. i remember she was witty and funny as s**t. i'd tease her about futbol vs football and her accent. she'd just take it like the good sport she was. i didn't know the whole time she was just loading up.

the bruhs would hang out in front of my locker in between classes, i don't remember why exactly, but this day being my birthday was no different. anyway the brit strolls by and i must have been feeling myself and said something slick to her in my faux british accent. i didn't even get a damn chuckle from the fellas, but as soon as she opened her mouth to clap back--them fools were all laughs. since they didn't know her and never heard her speak, they were captivated by our back and forth.
she asked me something about our assignment, then she remembered a party our class had back in elementary, and asked me if i remembered it.

i had one class left until the day was over, but i had to open my damn mouth.
-i'll tell the rest tomorrow
