It Was Written. LAD is very good but it's also got some filler. Nas from 94-99 is THE GREATEST rapper to ever walk the earth. IWW is Nas at his lyrical prime, Take In Blood, I Gave You Power, Watch Them nikkas, Shootouts, Live nikka Rap, :gladbron::gladbron::gladbron::gladbron::gladbron: DAMN that whole CD is phenomenal...

i refuse to conform
I'm sitting in the crib dreaming about Leer jets and coupe
The way Salt shoops and how they sell records like Snoop
Oops!
I'm interrupted by a doorbell
3:52, who the hell
Is this?
I gets up quick
Cocks my shyt
Stop the dogs from barking
Then proceed to walking
Its a face that I seen before
My nikka Sing, we used to sling on the 16th floor
Check it
I look deeper
I see blood up on his sneakers
And his fist gripped a chrome four-fifth
So I dip
nikka, is you creeping or speaking

lyrically biggie was nicer to me

why not post the blatant sellout songs? why not discuss him eschewing the foundation of his glorified entrance in favor of the wackmasterz?

a sting sample?

a 2pac beat jack?

foxy brown?

nas escobar?

this one i never understood

maybe this is just the sentiment in ny

BUT I LOVED NAS IS COMING!

why is that song avg? i really want to understand that logic

anyway as for the topic, its the same argument for illmatic vs ready to die, life after death was more entertaining than iww but nas is a step higher than biggie on the lyrical side(biggie himself admitted that) and iww is a lyrical masterpiece. so it depends on what you like.

will you take points away from biggie since him and puff openly admitted they whole arrangement scheme from ready to die and life after death derived from snoop and dre albums?

BIG was always on that sellout shyt. He was also better at it than Nas.

He also cited Cube. It was clear from the album.

I'd choose Life After Death.

It Was Written started off hot for the first few songs...then fizzled out. Plus, to me, that wasn't the type of Nas I was expecting to hear. It still a dope album but listening to Illmatic at the time before IWW came out, then having him drop this...:manny: I just didn't expect it to sound like that.
