Like I said, it's not about who he appeals to or him being popular.

If you were around when Illmatic dropped and remembered what people thought this cat was gonna be for Hip Hop, then you can see that he hasn't been that. Yes, he still has a career. That's great. But as an OG Nas fan, I can be honest enough to say that he hasn't made music on the level of greatness that we all thought he would.

I don't care if he sells records or not, or about what he speaks on. But the quality of his music has declined sharply since those first couple albums. It's almost like it's not the same dude. I remember the I Am bootleg dropping on the street way before the album did, and thinking it was better than anything that had dropped in years. I'm not gonna praise him just because he doesn't speak on hoes, money and cars. It's not gonna happen, but some people just want the old Nas back. The one that stood above other cats. I doubt I'm alone in just wanting Nas to be the Nas that couldn't be touched or seen.

wat u mean nas has made classics since illmatic and hes had better albums than illmatic

"Life Is Good" is a good album. It's far from being "Mediocre".

Ice Cube & Snoop both ended up with stronger careers down the stretch than Nas.

I don't think its fair to criticize the artist who was destined to grow from day one. Nas literally couldn't stay in the same place artistically and professionally that he was in as a 17 year old queensbridge resident.

Snoop Dogg is a sell out that was on a downward spiral and killed his career by switching to reggae. Ice Cube is busy on making a sequel for "Are We There Yet?"

At least Nas right the ship with the release of HHID. He open the mind of the cats out there that the music industry is poisoning the minds of the people with the garbage they release these days.

I meant to add Scarface & Ghostface as well

Now if you didn't listen to their albums I'm not going to back and forth with you but all these MCs are in the same class and when Nas started to me he was ahead of each of them with maybe Ice Cube and Snoop being the exceptions but down the stretch

Raw Footage, The Fishscale, The Last Meal & The Blue Carpet Treatment, Made & Emeritus are stronger than HHID, ******, and Life Is Good.

None of them saw the same promotion and marketing the would've seen in the artists primes but when you go through each album they are fire. I'm including Nas' projects as well but the other artists seem to put together better projects.

I don't think any of Nas' most recent albums can stand up against OB4CL2 or Fishscale. Its funny how things change as time goes on

True, Blue Carpet Treatment was hot too but the theme is getting old. I also kinda agree on Scarface and Ghostface. Both are underrated that I didn't even knew they released an album. Same with EPMD.

None of these albums are as strong as Life Is Good. Fishscale is the only one even remotely close, and that was released like seven years ago. I don't even really understand the comparison.

You're absolutely right. I am salty, because I think he's mediocre now. And I thought I'd be diggin' this cat's music as long as he was droppin' music to listen to.

You should have sticked to this point instead of blabbering garbage
