abort and try again...sound shytty, but :manny:

nobody wants their kid to suffer and definitely don't want to watch them suffering...i wouldn't even want to bring a child into poverty, so i damn sure would want this for them...

This.

I think if you can't bring a child into the world with every chance to succeed...why fukking bother....

Like how can you know your kid got Downs and be like...."Yeah I'ma have him/her anyway..."

That's some cruel ass shyt....

People with down syndrome live normal lives, have jobs, live on their own, and even get married:gucci:

I swear everyone on the coli thinks anyone with a disorder is automatically drooling at the mouth and twitching.
While this is true, it definitely depends on the level of dysfunction. Im sure the doctor is seeing something to suggest that. But most people with Down are very sick and they rarely live past the age of 60. Once the parents are old taking care of them becomes almost impossible. It's a life altering decision, not always easy.

Only 20% of people with a disability have a paid job...and then people with Downs only live to about to 60....and they will need financial, legal and medical assistance all their life...

Having child with a disability isn't as bad as it is 30 years ago...but it isn't ideal...

Honestly they give you this choice with any diagnosis. Its not just DS. Thats why genetic testing is a requirement now by 20 weeks, so you're still in the range to (legally) have an abortion. I had genetic testing done.

Seen too many grown ass down syndrome adults...that parents worry about because they don't know who is gonna take care of their kids after they die.

Then if I had other children, it would be unfair to them for me to be like..."Take care of your brother/sister..."

The whole benefit of being a human being is enjoying the intelligence and the ability to create and etc...and now I got a kid with Downs that will never experience that...unless it's some savant or some shyt...

So yeah...I am aborting.

I agree with this...

Its 55%.......

I'm not judging a person who aborts, but theres still a stigma with Downs and other disorders, that its an automatic death sentencs. And that's simply not true.

The tests aren’t 100% accurate, but that’s definitely a decision that should be made personally. While you may be able to help and all the other people that are probably telling them that too, they’ll have the responsibility of this child forever. Possibly, past the normal frame for other children. Not everyone with downs is a potato though. They have jobs, go to school, live on their own, etc.

Exactly. It's to protect the parents, but more importantly to protect the baby. I am a firm believer that there are just some things a child should NOT be born with. Not saying Down is one of them but more debilitating disorders.
