That one?
SPOILERS: The movie was entertaining. But it was so unrealistic that it made it unintentionally funny. When the Zebra.... I lol. They shoulda made this fantasy story in alternative universe. Instead of this ducktales story. I woulda been likeif he told me this. I felt like an atheist reading the Bible watching this. But it was beautiful scenery, animals, colors, etc. I thought at the end that it was gonna be on some Shutter Island stuff. Movie was over the top but again it's entertaining. His swimming skills make Michael Phelps look like chump in a freakin storm.

i think the island represents cannibalism. the meerkats were like maggots running around
To me it was either this or Django Unchained that deserved best director and best picture. Of the best movies that really resonated with me and had me thinking/talking about them weeks/months after seeing them these were them.
I've never read the book for Life of Pi but man the ending... when the main character gives a different take of what happened had me![]()
Movie was solid. Not as great as some made it out to be (in my opinion), but I could understand why some of you feel that way.
I took the first story as the tiger representing Pi and Pi representing God.
The tiger kept pushing Pi away, rejecting him and showing out right animosity. Eventually, he learned to trust Pi and realize he needed Pi in such a desperate situation.
In the end, once Pi helped the tiger get through the tough times, the tiger turned his back on Pi and felt he didn't need Pi anymore since he was in essence saved and could handle things on his own at that point.
I think a lot of that is how people turn to God in a crisis, but turn their backs once they're in the clear.
I'm not a religious person and never read the book, so I could be way off base.
