To be honest man Im glad my sister and cosuins grew up in the burbs, we had no clue there were any colorism issues until college. No joke we were all flabbergasted other blacks thought like this. I'll never understand it and I dont want to understand theres a lot of hostility I personally never saw but it just seems stupid. My mom is light my dad is medium. I just dont get what the issue is

I'm light skinned but I got dark fam and this whole lightskin vs. darkskin was never an issue in my family. Didn't even know this shyt was an issue until I got on the internet.

My Grandma and Great aunts are all light skinned and they marched with Dr.King and was on the front lines fighting foe OUR rights. Getting shyt thrown at them at sit ins.

They grew up on the same side of town and couldn't get served at resturants, and use public restrooms. Like everybody else.

It just seems like a never ending circle of a small percentage of black men and a small percentage of black women who both date IR but feel the need to justify their doing so by talking about the opposite gender of their race. I have seen it played out on both sides and in all honesty, it's comical and sad at the same time. I have seen black women praise their white partner for simply taking out their weave, I have seen black men praise white women simply for having phat asses now. These small and minute group of BM and BW that do this don't speak for everybody, yet they seem to be the ones getting everybody riled up. I don't get it.

Black men have not abandoned you. Many of us are too busy dying, un/underemployed and miseducated to help you. You if we are considered dark and ugly or too dark for a certain prestigious job then JUST HAVE DEAL WITH until something else comes along. Hopefully we don't get gun down another Black man trying to better his situation praying on or maybe get killed by a government agency. That's life. Cold and unfeeling. Get it how you live. Here is the thing about stats and studies unless you and anybody else are ready to use it when it doesn't benefit what your saying IMO it can't be the be all end all. We all know there is a lot of stats and studies out here that y'all aren't going to be quick to post so let's act like all studies are a piece of something but never the whole truth and usually not even inline with what people usually see with their own two eyes living life. I think that's the right way to handle all the stats and studies.
