@winb83 - You try too fukking hard with the contrarian shtick. The fact that they tried to license the IP, were declined, and did this shows how blatant a copy this is.
Worse, they tried twice

Tencent Plans to Release Light of Motiram, Which Some Say Is a 'Rip-Off' of Sony’s Horizon Games, on PS5 - IGN
Tencent has announced plans to release its controversial open-world survival crafting game Light of Motiram on PS5 as well as mobile and PC.www.ign.com
Sounds just like the gameplay mechanics of Horizon. Just like Enslaved has a red head protagonist running around a post-apocalyptic world facing off against mechs.
In gaming companies copy visual esthetics all the time from each other and from other media.

Let he who is without sin throw the first stone.

As part of the 2024 pitch, Tencent showed Sony a photograph of people on the development team playing Horizon and the trophies some of them had earned (from page 19 of the lawsuit document)

Edit: some more from Tencent's pitch:

I kinda like the sound of the pitch.I kinda like the sound of the pitch.
Imagine having this instead of lego horizon or VR horizon.
This whole industry is built off ripping off ideas of other companies. I'm not saying they didn't rip Sony off I'm saying if they can't rip them off where does the line get drawn?
Most games are just mechanics stolen from other companies with different characters slapped on top of it. Whole gernes exist because of that. Is Tencent flying a bit close to the sun here? Yeah but it's been done before. How many GTA clones exist? Mario clones? Zelda clones? Souls clones? Hell Call of Duty was a Medal of Honor clone that surpassed the original to become one of the biggest franchises in gaming.
You've disputed nothing I've said or proven none of it invalid. The point still stands. Even the company suing here has blatantly stolen the ideas of others.
