This is straight up one of the best beats I've ever heard. We all like stuff that's cool and party perfect, but then there's stuff that's almost like a religious experience.

When I heard this shyt, I was like: :mindblown: From a bullshyt rapper? :why::bryan::whew:

shyt like this helped me figure out that dude was actually running the longest troll game we've ever seen in hip hop.

At a certain point in this genre, Lil B was dropping the best music out of everyone and it wasn't even close. Funny enough, his most inspiring songs remain with low views while his deliberately fun/retarded/trollish music racked up millions of views. One of the greatest experiments in "what the rap audience says it wants and what it really wants" are two different things.

I think everyone initially started listening to Lil B because it's funny troll music.

But eventually you go thru his mixtapes and hear a track that lets you know it's way deeper than that

Dude has like 50,000 songs and less than 10 good ones. He's the pioneer of so much garbage today. I will say he has a pretty good ear for beats. He should send his producers to those underground dudes who no nothing about having good beats, then fall back

The problem is that the dudes without good beats often lack the imagination and charisma to make compelling tracks.

It's not just about having great beats, breh. It's knowing what to do with them and figuring out how to project your personality/message on them. A few dudes rhymed on Clams Casino shyt prior to Rocky entering the game and they sounded like absolute garbage. Clams said he submitted his beats to tons of myspace/aspiring artists and none of them did shyt with it - it was Lil B that ended up using them.

Give props where they're due :yeshrug:

I gave props for his ability to get good beats

Besides that, he sucks :yeshrug:

and I explained to you that it's beyond getting good beats. Lil B exerted his personality on them shyts and created a roadmap for how to approach them shyts in the first place. From suitable topics to suitable flows.

he has a better voice than 99% of these new nikkas. He's also gifted with humor, though you're welcome to think that's trash. Humor is relative :yeshrug:

this is the first track I ever heard from Lil B.

I couldn't even process wtf I was listening to :russ:

Because it was so far ahead of the curve. That bounce was NOT poppin in 2009; now that shyt's everywhere.

This has been the problem with hip hop since the 2000s: nikkas hate on innovative shyt. It just wasn't like this before. Someone like RZA could come out with a beat that's off the fukking wall and people would go :ohlawd:

Now that hip hop is basically pop (even the so-called 'real shyt'), the average hip hop consumer is so scared of anything new. They're afraid to be themselves, and thus many artists have zero incentive to innovate.

Lil B got hated on, turned out he was doing brilliant shyt. ASAP Rocky got hated on, turned out he was doing brilliant shyt. Now it's 21 Savage*. It'll take a couple years before they figure out Savage Mode is some of Metro Boomin's best ever work and certainly 21 Savage's best work thus far.

*21 Savage isn't as brilliant as Rocky/Lil B but he's definitely the best new rapper of that goofy Freshman list

1) That sounds like a bunch of Juelz Santana gifing

2) That is just 100% false. he has had one of the worst voices in rap for a long time, whether it's on serious tracks or "trolling" tracks. When it comes to voices, he's on the same level as Lil Uzi Vert, Lil' Yachty, Young Thug, Rich The Kid, and Ralo --- terrible voices regardless of how good the beats are. Not sure why I'm typing this much for anyone who regularly listens to Lil' anyway:francis: that's an L on both sides

You're trying too hard. Two very clear sentences sound like santana?

Because you're curious, shook and rambling.

Lemme put it this way: A guy with zero radio play, little-to-no industry push and being overall weird as fukk could never be as big as Lil B if he had a terrible voice. The basic minimum for a weird song to travel is good beat, good voice. Just something to think about.

You may now flee :salute:
