You need to open it so we can see inside, it looks like a variety of things. Also what does the tree/Bush look like?

For reference, peppers outside of black peppers are usually grown on a Bush or a shrub; hardly ever a tree
Also peppers usually have a pointed end of some kind are hardly ever perfectly round and are usually kind of hollow with multiple seeds. If it has one seed, it's not a pepper.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say these are not peppers. Did you taste it; easiest and quickest way to find out.
