I clicked the link. It’s to have your child read 1000 books before kindergarten. You can read the same book 1000 times and it counts. Doesn’t have a list of the books read parents are not present and where’s this prize? Shouldn’t Jared have a certificate or trophy posing with it?

So what? He's 4. Did your parents/grandparents/relatives read to you when you were that young, that often? It took ~3 years reading to that little boy, every day, to reach 1,000. We ALL know grown people that don't read 1 book in a year and MANY of them are parents.

Bad enough we have an undercurrent in our culture that DESPISES reading or showing the least bit of intellectual acumen.​

If not he's gonna have to shoulder that burden until it's time for college the bright side is it'll make him better at connecting with people regardless of perceived intelligence

You didn’t read the article. Yeah I had stories read to me as a kid and I was an avid reader before I hit double digit age I was consuming Harry Potter books so stfu I’m not being wooed by fake news just because it’s a black child. If that’s how you view us that’s on you, speak for yourself. He didn’t read 1,000 different books, he probably read the 50 same books multiple times. There’s not that many children books readily available across libraries that children actually like on top of that.
