
what hood you grew up in and what time period or you're just going off of stories? The hoods across America was way more savage than it is today. There was no harmony between communities and gangs, most people were just too damn terrified to say shyt and if less innocent were getting shot is only cause most people didn't go outside but for work or grocery. In the 90s black people were literally being held hostage in their own neighborhoods by drug gangs, street gangs, violent crack heads and stick up kids.
Not to mention how theft and sex crimes was also out of control.
