This has nothing to do with intelligence. It is simple common sense. Wayne puts words together for a living. He's done this enough to understand how things are interpreted and how it can be used against you. Saying what he said lives forever and there are racists out there who will take what he said and be like "even Wayne thinks they brought this on themselves" to justify the killing of our people. Those same racists will turn around and crucify him because he's still Black.

It is no different than how racists looked at Bill Cosby as someone who held us accountable because he stayed saying we should pull our pants up and used his statement about the Stand Your Ground Act to justify Zimmerman killing Travon. Didn't stop those same racists from using and making Cosby memes when all those women came out against Cosby.
