That 62% was a figure thrown out by cnbc for payroll taxes over $400k and it included new york state taxes.

People who are uneducated about taxes have been running with that number ever since.

And people have to remember that number is for payroll taxes. Someone brought up jay z but his ass ain't paying that percentage because he has a ton of business expenses he can write off (good for him).

Biden has said more than once he regrets the crime bill. I think it was used in a way he didn't intend. He's said how he plans to make up for that.

I know its hard to feel bad for them, and we shouldn't. But let's not knock them for their train of thought, we not in their shoes. Mass incarceration largely began in the 80s, the crime bill was passed in 94. yeah it had a hand in making things worse, but it sure wasn't the sole reason and it's being used as a conservative talking point when they supported mass incarceration before that.
