I’m not saying he don’t do drugs. I’m saying no functioning addict going to have that much focus. Here’s what I think Cash Money done since 2000 bring in dudes to play the background write rhymes. Birdman pay them under the table Wayne get the writers credit.

The thing about functioning addicts is that they need routine and structure to continue said functioning. At his height, the fact that he was constantly in the studio working definitely kept him in the spot where stayed sharp, primarily because he didn't have time not to be. These days, it's flipped where it's mostly chilling and seemingly getting high, and far less work being put into his craft. Completely understandable that under those conditions, he could have fallen off drastically. I mean, the quality of his most recent album supports that idea.

you off target

it's a lot of highs that lend themselves to hyper.focus & fueling unnatural work ethics

it's countless legendary artists who were way bigger addicts than tune

So he went in the studio and freestyled these amazing songs that he don’t remember the rhymes to? How he remember the rhymes to shoot the videos? That boy sold snake oil to the world.

so many amazing rock bands put out their absolute best in the depths of addiction to heroin and cocaine, not even to mention the acid casualties of the 60s and 70s. drugs can inspire the hell out of people but they can ruin everything too.

i think in waynes case, he's been considered the 'golden child' for so long that it was almost some michael jackson/child actor type shyt. i think he did progress and grow up through the carter III/no ceilings days but that was his peak. dude has had people telling him hes the greatest for so long that he doesnt even try anymore... he just puts out whatever he comes up with

i do think he still has something in him, but without struggle hes not gonna reach those heights again. and i dont buy the ghostwriting stuff. wayne is very distinct with his rhymes. i dont think you can really write for wayne lol, wayne writes for YOU

just my 2 cents. im prolly wrong like usual lmao :yeshrug:

So he able to go into the studio craft these intelligent bars but don’t remember them? If he was a junkie like that he wouldn’t be able to live in the studio. I know junkies when you strung out like that. That’s all you think about.

Do you actually listen to Wayne? I wouldn’t call his type of rhymes “intelligent” most of them are about eating p*ssy, smoking weed and shyt like that. Not exactly Pulitzer Prize winning stuff. I’m not surprised he doesn’t remember most of just stuff, he basically thinks of 2-4 bars at a time and punches in, that doesn’t exactly make it easy to commit to memory
