:russwat: nikka am from Philly but aside from the usual south st, center city move, what else is there to do here? lets be honest. shyt in a couple hours am bouta head down south st myself. they the only spots that be poppin like that.
You not the only person online that is a suspected "Norristown" nikka :russ: don't get bytchy I'm speaking on what I see. Its like somebody in your fam was bum you might say it but outsiders fukk no that's how I feel about Philly and moreso online cats be right there with everybody else on some yep shyt. That's all no real problems and depends of what you like to do. I don't know what your into but I have quite a bit of fun and or maybe your circle only do certain things and you need to break free from them. Its not NY but its not the boonies either

As a well known DJ in Philly who's DJ'd some of the biggest parties here

It's DEAD here....I've said that before on this board.

:to:

There's a whole discussion going on my friend's Facebook page among everyone in the nightlife industry.

Why are yall still screaming South St that shyt wack as fukk now and a bunch of young hoes and nikkas.

You got Northern Liberties, UCity and the neighborhood shyt. Manayaunk if you want to party with the white folks.
Exactly but I still hit up Fat Tuesdays (people work there), and Copas every now and then. Its stuff to do but cats don't explore IMO.

Philly is cool for regular nikkas. But I can see a celeb being bored and not impressed.

Philly is what a working class city should feel like. It's a city for all people and it welcomes all (if you act right). If ur some pretentious, stuck up, bougie person then this city ain't for you, and that's what I love about this city. It still feels like a real city, and hasn't lost the aura which made it that way. Manhattan and Brooklyn should take notes.

Philly is a big city, with a lot of big businesses and shyt, how could it possibly be nothing to do there?
What the fukk he wants to do is the real question, cause I'm assuming that you can do whatever you do in any big city if you are stacked.

There's plenty of nice things to do in philly as far as restaurants, events and what not but the club scene is DEAD and that's what Lil Wayne was referencing in his tweet.

In any other city he can get like 60k for a walk through and an official after party.....not here because promoters don't want to take the risk when people aren't showing up to the clubs and spending money the way they did in the early 2000s. You literally can't sustain anything of quality here for long periods of time because the small young urban professional crowd just doesn't go out every week and the "hood" crowd which is the majority of philly, ruins things quickly.

I had a spot where I spun at and we catered to the young professional crowd. Someone got stabbed......hood took over and it was never the same.

Copas cool but it is one in UCity too. Fat tuesday is a bunch of Delaware and Jersey corny ass kids.
In Ucity I like going to Landmark and my boys always wanna go to mad mex. I just like FT for their drinks honestly not to worried about the scenary there.

Yeah I can agree with this as far as the difference between the city and club life. Too bad the "hood" crowd takes over and messes up certain spots. Keep that shyt at Palmers/Pinnacle or whatever them clubs are called now lol. Me and my boys though used to stay in Fusion but now it seems like a white club when I pass by. Haven't been in a hot minute

Any of you Philly dudes remember Industry XIX on 19th and Chestnut? that was my favorite club in Philly easily and it struck a nice balance of being good for young black professionals but at the same time not too bougie. Unfortunately they shut that shyt down because the owner wasn't paying his rent :snoop:

but yeah, night life is pretty weak right now. some spots like Time, Barbary and Silk City are cool if you're white boy wasted but as far as lounges where you can just chill, enjoy some good music and a nice vibe there's definitely a void

that's exactly what happened to Industry XIX. when it first opened you had to go through background checks and post your job title on their website just to get in :pachaha:a few months down the line they realized they couldn't rely on the bougie crowd to sustain business so they started letting dudes in who were rocking scuffed up sneakers and wrinkled t shirts

Walnut Room was another spot that tried to target to the bougie crowd and couldn't sustain it. bougie black folks don't really do clubs anymore, now it's "day parties"

You know what's weird I promise Philly has to have the most nikkas from a city that don't rep it right. I don't think I've ever heard a nikka from NY, Chi, and or Cali talk major shyt about their city like I see some of these Philly nikkas. I be wondering are these cats really from Philly or these some ole Norristown type nikkas man.

WTF u talking about?? Aint nobody talking bad about Philly I love my city but I hear people everyday say its nothin to do here at night. It aint many club options, our strip club scene is trash, and walking up and down South Street is for kids. For us to a major city we should have more things goin on
