:dwillhuh:
I've listened to every Wayne album, most of his mixtapes and about 1/2 of his features and he really isn't that good :patrice:
I'm not going to let my opinion be dictated by a bunch of grown men on an internet forum but I really can't see why he's as big as he is. He never dropped any incredible verses, just poor - slightly above average. Tha Carter II was mediocre at best, the production was above average and his verses were underwhelming as always. He's never shocked me into believing his hype, and I still can't see where it comes from. nikkas are uploading these 6/10-ass songs and calling them classics :comeon:
I'm still waiting for him to wow me :snoop:

I got crazy love for the south but at no point did anyone listen to Wayne like :ohhh: "the south has bars?!" Anyone willing to give the south a fair shake knew they had bars since the early 90's breh.

:childplease:

i was a cash money fanatic long before 2000. these generalizations dont apply to me.

besides, people to this day, still dont respect the south's pen game anyway. so they dam sure didnt start respecting it in 2000.

and im just now questioning the mikkey thing in hindsight cuz im noticing some things. but i knew from jump that gillie wrote alot of C1. its painfully obvious.

I might be the only one who liked C3 in this thread.

It wasn't super lyrical, but it was creative and experimental (Dr. Carter, Let the Beat Build, Shoot Me Down).

But C2 is just... :blessed:

C2 is unskippable. All tracks are fire.
C3 is a great album. Especially for what the aim was

Fred.

He's right. He's not taking about Andre 3000, Nas, Jay type of lyricism.

But, bars that make you go :ohh: with similes and quick wit.

That's how Wayne got so damn popular because people weren't use to a southern rspper spitting like that

That's the point i'm stressing.....Wayne always had bars.......people just didn't notice......
same thing with his cursing.........dude didn't curse in his music before 2000......

its like the nurse.....and the (hot) nurse.........same nurse.......but when u look at differently
u see something different.....Wayne always had untapped potential, he always did have to grow...
we literally watched grow into his own.......but yall crazy if yall thinking......on a set date and a set time
dude had a drastic change of life and overnight he woke up spitting crazy.....dude been spittin crazy
