Carter 1 and Carter 2 are still dope to this day. C2 gets better and better every year. IMO C2 and LFLS are Wayne's pinnacle of his career

Nah, Wayne has A LOT of dope material going back to his first album, and all the way up to present times, I was with Wayne since Hot Boys, followed dudes career since the 'Bling Bling' video, he is an undeniably talented artist, and his music much more often then not, reflects that. However, he has two things going against him, big picture, he has SO MUCH material, a lot of it is legit trash, or close to it. Two, he is an artists that has lacked consistent depth in his music, and again, this is reflected in that. 'Tha Carter 1 and 2' are personal classics and favorites, and have aged well, all around, for the most part. Post 2007, his material has become much more inconsistent, and some just inexcusable. But, that doesn't negate, or detract from his legacy of quality music. But, no, Wayne is not the best rapper alive, or to do it, and yeah his mix tape and album shyt is full of garbage, uninspired punchlines that never held up, we were just so captivated by his run we excused them. To me, Wayne best material was the lost 'Carter 3' sessions and 'Carter 2', that was his peak as an artist.

Carter 2 not only aged well it got better over time for me, which is a commendable achievement. Outside of that ye, Wayne catalog is dominated by disposable music but i knew that when it was dropping, precisely why i never bought into the hype when everyone seemed to be on his dikk

I was thinking the same thing the other day actually. He still has some tracks but the hype of 06-08 was kinda just that..hype.
