i was about to say, i think Ebro fell for the okey doke and got the reaction Yachty wanted..but then i seen Yachty'stweets.
They still fell for the okie doke cause they reacted and he called up shyt talking Ebro and now they're going to post the call.. just promo marketing
Yeah there's a difference....you tell your friend in person..not to millions of ppl. Especially ppl directly connected with you career
and Yachty going to end up coming out of it with people respecting his pov because you know he's say some shyt like
Ebro and them want the youngins to rap better but when we try they clown us blah blah blah.
It's not like Lil Yachty sent him a private verse. Everyone that hears Lil Yachty knows he can't rap. I'm tired of people trying to be PC, start telling these wack ass rappers they're better off applying to McDonald's.
Fred.
Yachty doesnt care about rapping like that, though. hes said so himself he just loves making music. and when he started all his friends said his shyt is trash. he talked about in that Fader documentary. he heard the beat for Minnesota, starting rapping and all his boys laughed at him and said it was horrible but he knew that the song would catch on.
yachty is not a good rapper, but he makes feel good music. thats what music is about, period. all that extra shyt does not matter.. music is meant to invoke emotion. his music has a very uplifting and positive feel to it.
That's all fine and well but don't get upset when people say your shyt is trash, then. You can't have it both ways.
Fred.
thats fine and dandy but its like "whats the point", people aren't claiming otherwise. i call him Lil Goat as a joke, but i dont think hes really a GOAT. but it just seems really lame to call a rapper trash while entirely missing the whole objective and point of what said artist is doing and going after. hes not trying to be a good rapper, hes just making music for emotional purposes. point blank.
rap is the only genre of music, where the majority of hip hop fans rewrite history to fit into their elitist view. hip hop started off based on purely the musical aspect, without caring about lyrics.
And movies started off without sound, and in black and white. What is your point?
Things evolve. Rap music ain't strictly been "party/feel good" music for damn near 25 years. Once albums like "Death Certificate" and PE started dropping that went out the window. If people want to make "Rapper's Delight" type musicbut don't start crying when someone criticizes it. If Lil Yachty said "who cares man, I'm just making feel good music" I'd have no complaints. Dude got offended. He has no right to get offended, by his own admission.
And don't tell me about history, I been into hip-hop longer than you been alive.
Fred.
ok, i get that criticism then. yeah, you cant really call yourself trash and say you dont care about the technical aspect then get in your feelings when other people do the same as well.
Exactly. That's all I'm saying.
And this ain't directed at you, but the whole "bro, who cares, hip-hop is supposed to be party music" 9 times out of 10 is used by people that don't know jack shyt about the genre. If that was true The Source would've immediately fell into obscurity....rappers took those ratings and who got what Hip-Hop Quotable to heart for a solid 2 decades in it's prime. It wasn't just rappity-rap type guys. People selling millions of records would sit up and argue their ratings, or who should've gotten the Quotable.
Never mind the battle aspect of hip-hop. Imagine if Jay never made "Take Over" because "I just wanna make party music, bro". It's a cop out. FBI flat out said the KKK had Cube and Chuck D targeted for assasination due to their lyrics....but nah, hip-hop is nothing more than party feel good music. I don't take fans seriously who say that kind of silly shyt.
