It's worse for 50 cent because he had to pay out his pocket for most the shyt that the label normally would.

That "smoke" single got worked at radio just as much as any major label "event" single has this entire year...and SOMEBODY paid for it...last week there were dead ass 50 Cent album giveaway promotions on the local radio station in STL where played his new single and some old hits with the "brought to you, by G-Unit" drop on the sh!t...the whole point of the overblown "people make infinitely more money on indie" myth is that money is saved on promotion, this album was more promoted than the majority of major label albums nowadays...and there ain't like there's some magical "indie discount"...either the label is paying for it and taking a cut on the backend, or it came out of 50's pocket
