I'm missing the point here. Would you drop a panhandler wearing a nice suit a few bucks? These artists, most of them doing better than I am financially, aren't getting shyt from me. If they're too irresponsible to not grab their recorded songs out the studio when they're done, and letting their shyt get leaked, it's on them. I usually get the albums 2 weeks or so before the release date, so fukk em. And if some wierdo wants to buy the album, then leak it himself, he has too much time on his hands. Music isn't worth the value it's selling for, I'm sorry, especially today's hip hop which lacks any kind of creativity and thought. If you think Kendrick Lamaars is good, you're a bum. It's just the rap game is saturated with a bunch of below average talent that makes even mediocre artists sound brilliant....fukk these clowns.

lol what the fukk kind of comparison is this? you can't be serious.

if you feel that way, that's on you. but don't be all confused as to why other people supports artists they like, not all of us feel that way.

yeah, I download music to check it out, but the artists who I respect (or respected) I support them because I like what they are doing and who they are.. or at least who they portray themselves as. if i watch an interview and an artist is saying some real ass shyt, seems genuine, like they genuinely care about their music and its not just a paycheck and I like not just their music, but their mindset.. chances are ill show them support financially :yeshrug:

So you don't buy albums because, finically, the artist is doing better then you?

Anyways I kinda agree with "music isn't worth the value it's selling for" because some projects are trash, but then you have artist that drop dope projects and some times they give it out for free and you have people who would be willing to pay if the artist charged.

I'm not against downloading free music because i do it but if you are a real fan then I think you should support the artist and buy the music.

I bought them all right when they came out. I don't really support these artists at all financially LOL.

I don't buy albums because I can get them for free. If you had an apple tree, would you buy apples from the supermarket?

On the flip side, before I figured out how to download albums, I have a shytload of vinyl, tapes, and cds of the pre 2002 or so era of hip hop, from 1989-2002 roughly. I just don't see the point anymore. I'm not a fan of anyone, just like music. I don't have posters of these lames and don't care what they put in their little album booklet. It makes more sense to me to get the album fir free, before it drops in stores, and spend that money on something more productive, not giving a fukk how the artists feels or contributing it to their drug habits or next album that has 2 decent song out of 14.

I think it would be kind of cool to buy CD's again because I used to love having the packaging and shyt but in this day and age it just isn't practical. There's no justification for me paying for something I could get for free from the comfort of my own home days in advance before it's even released.

And even if you do have the CD, it's not like you're ever gonna listen to it. You know damn well you're gonna rip it to iTunes and let the disc itself collect dust from now until the end of the time.

the point if this thread is to see who actually still buys music

:camby: GTFO
The point of the reply is to see what your point is in buying cds? Don't be mad cuz you paid $60 or so collectively, for 5 albums, that have only about 7 songs that are decent. You're a fukkin fan, I get it, you want to know everything about the artist, what they do in their spare time, etc., and support them in every way and not just take music for what it is.....just noise.

I dont CDs if there is a vinyl version. With that said the last CD I bought was Weekend's Trilogy back in April. Before that was Curren$y's Stoned Immaculate and KRIT's Live From The Underground on vinyl.

And before those were Weekend at Burnies and Pilot Talk 1-2.

Now that I have a full time job, Im gonna go back to buying a few LPs a month.
