baseball - in field fly rule :what::why::huh:

CAME IN TO SAY THIS. An out should only be a catch, strikeout, tag out, or force out. Forget that other ish.

Why Americans love baseball (one of the slowest games ever) but can't really get into hockey or soccer. Is it cuz they can't score? (well runs can be rare in baseball) is it cuz they don't have the patience? (well spending 3+ hours watching eventual movements is very patient)

not saying americans don't like soccer or hockey, but for those that dont and like baseball

I'll field this (don't aske me how).

I can't get into soccer/hockey like I do baseball because it's so much action FOR NOTHING.
All that slide tackling, running/skating all over the place, fighting - for nothing.
It seems like everything about those two sports matters except scoring.
If there's 10 minutes left in a soccer/hockey game, and your team is up 1-0, you can turn the chit off, because
chances are the other team wont score in 10 minutes, because the scoring is so few and far between -
despite getting yourself all hyphy because there's so much movement. lol

Now I will admit the closest thing to this in baseball is what I hate most - runners left on base.

But baseball is a strategic game, so when there is no "action" - as a fan it is still interesting, because
(1) you try to figure out what each team will do/is doing, or (2) you recognize there is no "action" because
one or both of the teams are playing so well, they aren't allowing "action" from the other team.

I mean, you can watch a baseball game and neither team score in 8 innings...then the away team scores a run in
the Top 9th and the home team HAS TO DO SOMETHING now. The first swing at the first pitch can change the game.
And walk-offs happen with enough frequency that it's not crazy to see it...i'm rambling, but basically - fucc soccer.

Locker room interviews

shyt always looks weird to me why is this even allowed, nikkas half naked in the middle of changing and got a ton of mics stuffed in their faces asking about the game like damn y'all can't wait?

Just saw an interview with Sage Steele and she was whining about sexual harassment in there and I'm like shyt what you expect? If you're asking me questions with my dikk half out then anything's fair game

FANS.

I can't fathom for the life of me why Joe Fan on messageboards and at the office always equate thier jobs to pro sports...like how can your brain not realize the major differences lmao

"Why are you complaining about wearing thigh pads buddy! If I complained about my work attire I would be FIRED!"
"Why is xxx holding out?? I can't hold out from my job for more pay so welcome to the real world buddy!"

I cant understand why Joe Fan doesn't like when a player gives any type of interview whatsoever. Its like players arent even human - you hate them if they give generic interviews, and when they decide to show any personality:

"Why doesn't XXX just SHUT UP and PLAY"

Even when asked a direct question by an interviewer lol "SHUT UP AND PLAY"

The chances in soccer are exciting, and when they do score it's :blessed:

i don't agree with the 10 minutes left thing. Especially in hockey. Tellin yall, some crazy shyt happens in soccer/hockey that you guys are missing out on. The kings/blackhawks series was :noah: . Just wish more ppl would give it a chance

Can yall explain this?

No. That's why it baffles me.

You can't out run the defense. It's like if Megatron beat a db and caught a bomb down field but it got flagged because he beat the db in a foot race:mindblown:. Only underneath patterns are allowed.

Soccer fans explain offsides please.

but the batter (if smart) would make it to first, no...??

i hate baseball :heh:

It's to protect the batting team.

In theory the batter makes it to first, yes. But if they're on first AND second... or bases loaded... they could easily keep everyone pinned on the base... let the ball drop, and then quickly double off at any of the bases.

Which is why the rule is in effect if there's a runner on first and second (of first/second/third)... less than two outs. It actually keeps rallies alive.

Though I saw in a little league game, where it was a judgement call, and the Umpire ruled it a "humpback line drive" instead of an infield fly .... I've never seen white people lose their brains like that before.
