Come on Arcadium brethren. We all have them so let's list them.
- You can't convince me to try an MMO. I know they're fun but I can't see myself investing $10+ a month to play something especially with how ADHD I am when it comes to what I'm playing.
- Kamiya can do no wrong. By extension, Platinum Games is practically infallible. I mean look at this dude's resume as Director: Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Wonderful 101. He's a hitmaker.
- I rarely ever play F2P games. Even ones I'm interested in. I think I have this subconcious notion that the game will be barebones until I sink a ton of time or spend money. I've barely even played TF2 since it went F2P and I think that's a great game.
- Stories are almost never good in games. Atmosphere in video games can be amazing. So much so that I don't long for a good story the way I might in a book or even a movie. But I struggle to think of "good" stories in video games that match up to classic (and modern-classic) novels.
- Valve is amazing. At least as long as they're not publicly traded. I used to be very skeptical of them and I feel they've proven me wrong at every turn so now I have faith in them. They're not perfect but they realize that, deliver alphas/betas on features and use that to gather and implement feedback. So when SteamOS releases, I realize it's not going to be perfect but I have faith that Valve will make it into something more and more worthwhile over time.
