jay was in my top 10 but scarface kicks him out, easily.

ma$e was another one who was in my top 10 (at number 10 to be exactly) but kanye has kicked him out. kanye's catalog is too strong. obviously it's not even a comparison:mjlol:

whereas ma$e's catalog is not existent even with the all the "comebacks" (post retirement album, mixtape and guest features) when he's come back it's never really owned up to the hype. could he still rap and was it decent? yeah but nothin' better or even memorable than his pre retirement days

it's not like the brother came back and dropped a "the art of storytelling" like slick rick. for as classic as harlem world is, it ain't like he fukked around and dropped a genre definin' album like the great adventures. when an mc drops an album like the great adventures of slick rick (which one could retire after and never come back because the album is that great) then comes back and follows it up with great features and an album like "the art of storytelling" that's incredible; which only proved that slick rick still had what it took to make a really good album in another era of hip hop.

with all that said, slick rick is the man. :myman:

he wrote "la di da di" and "the show" for pete's sake! :wow:

you can "retire" from hip hop and never have to put out shyt when you write standards like those songs above and, and when you dropped a genre definin' album like the great adventures of slick rick:mjcry:
