pt.ii was a step back in the right direction for Rae after his previous albums and when you judge pt. ii on it's on merit, it was decent

but when i listen to it right after the original, it pales in comparison.

im sure i'll get a lot of hate for saying this, but opinions are like a$$holes, we all have one. lol

there are good moments on pt.ii but a lot of the album just sounds rather mundane to me now.

i wish Rae would've just gotten RZA's understudy True Master to have produce the majority of the album w/ the few RZA produced tracks we got eye to eye at the time.

you listen to the original and then pt.ii right after and ii just doesn't flow as easily as the original

but what do y'all think?

Facts. I can see they tried to make it cohesive, but it's one of those things where too much time had passed by. I do think tho, had part 1 come out like in the 2000s the "series" probably would've been moreso coalescent due to the internet being able to kinda keep the "feeling" alive.

Part 2 could have been greater but production was not set in stone unfortunately, it took Rae like 5 years to put this together..
He ended up getting some rookies back to bless him..including scram Jones. Overall a tip notch effort but nothing compares to purple tape.

Question. Do y'all think him trying to follow up w/ a sequel was a good or bad thing? And would it have gone across better if he had just named it something else
A good thing because it brought motivation and interest from Wu fans, we missed that Old Raekwon.

yeah

i remember being hyped for it when Rae dropped State of Grace
that song had staying power and still sounds great too

yeah., the time played a factor and then i think just a lot of the production just isn't on steriods like original is
