the surprise impact Sean Price Monkey Bars had on me, very few have had like that since.
I was in the store buying an album and I clock the Money Barz cover. I remember seeing it in XXL when they were promoting the three albums from Duck Down and they all had those cartoon covers and something in me just made me buy it. I had no previous knowledge of Sean or Duck Down in general. I loved it instantly and when you buy something on a whim and it turns out to be fire ? that shyt stays with you.
(did the same for Cage's Weatherproof because I loved the artwork of him in front of the Empire State Building but the album did not have the same effect)
Sean Price slotted right in next to Cam'ron as one of my favorite mc's of this time period.
