I used to think rock was better til I took a really good listen to ‘da wiggy’

his style was a bit different back then but still sick with it

Been saying this since the 90s. Sean was ALWAYS fire. His bars and flow on Nocturnal are criminally slept on. Most people were too busy wowing at Rock (deservedly) and missed how great P was.

"Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthin To fukk With :whoo:
Boot Camp Clik ain't nothin to Wu-Tang:mjcry:"

"I don't do songs with Ras Kass,:hhh:
I do songs with wack rappers for fast cash":feedme:*

Might be some of the greatest self depreciating bars of all time. :russ:

Rap Game Rodney Dangerfield, I swear :wow:

His early solo work had the same energy I got from Kool Keith when he was doing the Dr. Octagon album. Like 'you already know me, and I'm gonna do pretty much the exact same thing I was doing before, but now you fukk with it on another level."

It's a damn shame he passed when he did, because he would have eaten GOOD off the late 10's/ early 20's goon market.

Lowkey, he might be a touch behind Ghost. Rae and P in terms of cats who were probably influences for revisiting the grimy New York sound.

I'll always have a special place for Sean P in my heart because I was in a crowd that got pepper sprayed then rushed a wall of cops during the Heltah Skeltah set at Notting Hill Carnival in '96. Good times. :pachaha:

(* I know people who have songs with Sean Price. Hearing those bars made me :picard:for them)

The only reason I didn't include Roc is because he seems to be accessible to a lot of the cats in the generation after him - hence him doing whole albums with cats like StoveGod and Flee Lord. even back to working with the P Brothers from the UK in the early 00's

The other four seem to be guys who are/were looked at like they are above jumping on everyone's record, just because someone asked.

At the very least it would have to be a full on release like 'Hell Still On Earth' or 'WestsideDOOM'.

The fact some people in this thread think Rock is better than P on the mic is astonishing. Sean P is so clearly in a league of his own. And that's nothing against Rock. But Sean was just special man. His flow on the first two Helter Skelter albums was unfukkwithable
