It's more than that.
Artists leave a lot of unused material on the cutting room floor. When that happens, the producers submitting the beats usually get little out of it. No money, no recognition, nada.
Think about No More.Parties in LA. That track has been sitting on Kanye's shelf half finished since 2010. I doubt Madlib gave a fukk. But, some artist, such as Hudson or Flying Lotus, will feel some type of way.
