Cena had valid points about turning heel, besides freshening him up which he does need I don't know that a heel turn would truly accomplish what they need out of it because dude would get cheered by most the same dudes showing up to boo him if he's the fiery deadpan humored stick man he is when he's motivated by his opponent during a promo. BUT.
I just don't like how the company vastly under estimates children and their ability to decide/ deal with disappointment. You wouldn't need one single "replacement" if you have all the faces/heels sell it like it was this super dark gloomy day that the ultimate good guy went bad. Similar to how WCW did when Hogan went heel. It elevated everyone heel and face and brought them together for a time at least because this dark day no one ever saw coming happened.
This "face of the company" model is tired too. WWE fancies itself as a brand. Mania sells out damn near instantly every year and most have no idea who will be featured so that tells you that if you stop playing favorites and push the brand as a whole instead of a face then you can move characters around as needed to freshen things up. Especially in a fictional realm.
No one of his star power has been the EXACT same character for 10 years straight without some kind of pushback. All the greats went thru it when their act got a little stale and predictable or when they'd run out of things to do in their present form.
He seems aware of it at least but they've gotta give him other talk points besides his "Cena is for the kids" stock answer. Even if it's the truth it sounds like a cop out now that we've heard it so many times.
The interview was fine, a lil shoot the shyt session.
I didn't expect Jericho to start asking Cena where the bodies are buried or anything wild because he's always chummy when he speaks on him. Even when him and Edge were talking about the Barrett Nexus stuff it was an Edge led convo because Edge just talks how he feels.
Anyways enough ranting and rambling, the office is way too quiet this morning and I needed a soapbox to jump on
