Living paycheck to paycheck is disturbingly common: ‘I see no way out.’

The cost of living for most of us who own/rent properties is what has changed so much! I completely agree that as much as inflation as we have seen increase over the last 30 years the wages were no where close to being adjusted fairly to keep up.

Ask most people who have some bread how it was a 30 years ago it was much easier to buy property and much cheaper. It is a lot easier to make moves when you have real estate assets and now that is very hard to attain for the average person on a fixed income.

Yeah, 25 years ago, people used less than 30% of their checks on ALL of their bills. Now, some people have to work a second job just to get the money owed from bill collectors off of their backs :hhh:

Disgusting how the population exploded on all major metro areas, and traffic jams are getting worse and worse.

All I’ll say is if the income inequality gap that is plaguing the West is not addressed with real policies what you saw in Paris last year will be a pillow fight compared what will come when the people can’t take it anymore. And for the elites they must do this because you need social cohesion. If they ignore the people then the people will rise up in mass and there will be blood in the streets.

Yeah, the lack of unions will be the death of the middle class. They think that everyone will work hard ass jobs for less than 40k a year and not fight back? :dahell:

America is looking like a banana republic as each day passes by.

President might deploy troops and keep the federal government shut cause he can get Congress to do what he wants

People don't see that the mass shootings that Israel commits, the parading of any and all "justifiable force" killings in the US and elsewhere, the way strongmen like Duterte and Bolsonaro kill people with no recourse, and the constant shifting of the discussion window being from "it's bad BUT" to just 'Nah fukk em they're just protecting what's theirs" is to normalize the use of deadly and violent force against people who are so beaten down and broken that they have no choice but to rise up and risk death and injury just to make themselves heard. People's ability to empathize and contextualize human suffering as being so overwhelming has become passe in the name of "but they might come for some of my shyt, I like my shyt" and instead of attacking the root cause of the issues, I.E. our rampant and broken economy that people don't even fukking understand anymore, they'll be directed to attack one another as the elites rush to the lifeboats and abandon the ship that they steered toward the glacier (or in this case, the melting glacier).

You can get rid of all the illegals and it won’t make a difference if you don’t fix this trend.

We have 150 million people that participate in the labor force. 8 million out of the 150 million or 5% of total U.S workers are illegal immigrants.

About eight million of the nearly 11 million immigrants unlawfully in the United States — down from a high of 12.2 million in 2007 — participate in the labor force. They account for about 5 percent of all workers, according to the Pew Research Center.

8 Million People Are Working Illegally in the U.S. Here’s Why That’s Unlikely to Change.

All this hoopla about 5% of the fukking workforce which incidentally also happens to be the least politically powerful group in the country.

You can get rid of that 5% and it won't make a difference because the structural issues are going to be there.
