I have a homegirl who has been living with her ex for a year or two. Originally they were broken up and the dude was down on his luck so initially it began as her saying "he needs a place to stay and the rent is really expensive in the city. We're just going to be roommates." Now she's catching feelings over who he dates and how he moves with these women. To the point that when she found out he was gonna go on vacation with a chick to a place she had been wanting to go, she flipped out and decided she is gonna move out

I say all this to say, can you truly be respectable "roommates" with your ex?
