Lmao, I always thought LL got a lot of unnecessary flack for this verse. If Camp Lo rapped the same lyrics people would just be like :yeshrug:

Because that's Camp Lo's lane.

This wasn't LL's lane, which is why people reacted like :dahell:

It would be like LL doing horror core. Just because Gravediggaz does it....don't mean he should.

Anyway I never liked that verse. Sounded like a bunch of nonsense. Even with the explanation....it sounds like a bunch of words just strung together.

Camp Lo does the same shyt but it doesn't sound like gibberish. Same with Ghost. Even if you could argue their shyt makes no sense....it sounds fly. This LL verse did not.

bingo and great analogy with camp lo & ghost. that stream of consciousness surrealism that on the surface level doesn't make much sense like dali's melting clocks. but the beauty of it's execution gives it meaning that defies logic & reasoning because it evoked emotion. like all good art should do. ghost said wolverine carnation milk, wu denim jeans and it was the most profound thing i ever heard :wow:

where as cool j's shyt fell flat b. horrible in '94 and horrible now but this is the future of the funk GOAT so who am i to say stay out of that stream of consciousness lane? like fukk it james todd earned that lemme let him live lmao

Aw man, I love Camp Lo. Lyrics sound like advanced poetry to me lol

I ski in switzerland, down in morrocco, gamblin', handlin', b.i. for my crooks back in the bx, sex collect wines, italian designs, quicksilver could paint the canvas if needed, but should it be nought, cuz everything goes according to plan

Back n late 90s, homie of a homie who was in the industry mentioned a gay friend of his was attending a coming out party where Busta and LL attended.

We was like "so".

It wouldn't be unusual for celebs to be friends with gays.

He was like, "they was the only hetro guys at the party"

Then we went "oooooooooh":ohhh:
