Yeap... he was dead on about that tho'. Lots of rappers had that "do no wrong" time in their career where people love EVERYTHING they do just cause it's them... but soon as that time passes, then it's like everything they do comes under extreme scrutiny. Reminds me on when Jay did that verse on the Hustlin' remix and nikkas acted like it was the first time he ever had a less-than-stellar verse. When he was killin' everything, nikkas overlooked his slip-up verses, but then they spent '06 tryin' to play dude out over every other rhyme :russ: LL definitely went thru it. Even if certain records really weren't that dope, they became 10 times worse when people were off the LL wave.

Gospel. Been saying this for years. Again, further proves my point of how popularity & fame plays a big big part in peoples opinions, sayings & who and what they're fans of. You can even peep it here on Coli.

lol I might need to hear a "Lord Supreme Shaleek" project. I think he could pull it off lyrically... I guess NGE might find that disrespectful though.

I think these nikkas make it clear beforehand that they don't want to be asked any questions about certain topics.

I mean they didn;t ask L about Ice-T, Moe Dee or Canibus. And they didn't ask Ice-T about L or Soulja Boy :lolbron:

I don't think he hates him but he definitely doesn't think Jay is on his level
why would you think your clone is on your level? you wouldnt.

LL has literally done everything that every rapper has done after him. now there will be some that make more money(because he paved the way).

LL and WIll smith paved the way for rappers to do TV/Film
LL was the first major hiphop artist to push an independent black owned clothing line that blew up.
LL was one of the first mainstream popstar rappers that would still battle you.
The dude has been in the game so long he is the game.

He has a body of work but he also has stand out albums/hits.
understand something. he went platinum when going gold was impossible for 99.9% of hiphop rappers/groups

what i'm saying is, this nucca was going platinum while the rest were trying to sell 100k. do you understand what kind of movement that is behind this dude and we could add in,kurtis blow and Run DMC of course.
This dude was the first hiphop guy for a lot of things

Another milestone of LL's popularity was his appearance on American Bandstand as the first hip hop act on the show.[16]

This dude crossed over into white man land but didnt make white man crossover music. his music was unadulterated hiphop from the streets. REAL music crossing over into the mainstream.

Another of the album's singles, "Hey Lover", featured Boyz II Men sampling Michael Jackson's "The Lady in My Life," which eventually became one of the first hip-hop music videos to air on VH1

as long as pac's career was. i was already getting tired of his flow and cadence right when he died. i dont think biggie could've lasted for 30 years either. This is the thing. I'm not sure any rapper could pull that off. Jay is trying. Nas has been around for good minute.
