Don’t tell me you’re one of those “keep it real” cats who thinks getting endorsement deals is selling out.

Because if you are, Billy D Williams (Colt 45), Suga Free (random Soul Food restaurant), Q-Tip/ATCQ (Sprite), Ice Cube (Coors), Common (Sprite), Wu-Tang (St. Ides), etc were all sell outs.

You’re just arguing to argue at this point. Go make a turkey sandwich.

He’s right, he is one of the most important. One of the first rappers that was starring in movies, had his own sitcom. Probably the first sex symbol in rap too. As dope as Run Dmc and Rakim were women wasn’t falling out over them. Plus he was the first rapper who seemed larger than life. When I was a kid, ll was that dude

The Wrong Side of the Tracks
A lot of people confuse mass appeal/popularity with importance.
Don't get me wrong. LL is an undeniable Legend. That doesn't mean his influence is greater than any other MC in that period (Hell, I put MC Shan above LL), but he's SUPPOSED to think like that.

That's part of the culture.

I ain't even mad at him for saying it.
