He might have a point

I think he is ONE, but he did do a lot of things first and better than most.

He also was in the movie and TV game just as long as he’s been in rap and did it better than most. He was Def Jam at one point. Was involved in FUBU, had his own TV Shows, etc.

People know him more for being on TV than rap at this point. And LL was about anything he rapped everyone knew it.

Many rappers say dude is arrogant af but can you blame him. He also was the first black man to not die in a horror movie :mjlol:

The funny thing is that makes his point even further. He was a true pioneer in making Hip Hop culture into Pop Culture

Thats his opinion and i he has a case thanks to his acting career and able to be here today still going strong

Look LL is def jam records, made great songs with overall average albums with the exception of 2

I really enjoyed in a lot of movies especially as God in , in too deep

But a few others will have a case especially Ice Cube, since this generation still love friday movies even if they not hip to cube earlier music career

Even Snoop has a bigger case

LL IS the prototype MC. Idk how anyone could even remotely disagree with this. Run dmc are seen as the standard but longevity wise, changing styles, features, albums, hits… LL is the one. The most adaptable, def jams blueprint.

Guys like method man, who are used to help prop up other artists on thenlvel as much as they are stars themselves, followed the LL blueprint. LL could be plugged into any track from pop to hardcore and make it work. They followed him into tv and movies once that ice was broke.

That versatility is what the labels look for. Run dmc was that early with the rock collabs and stuff but their run was like 1/3 of LLs come on now. He is probably the first CAREER MC.

Without the reign of fhe boy king.
Rap goes no further than 1983. Post rhe Roxanne wars. Rap would have been a short lived business only regarded as a fad.

I would say LL is one of the most important Hip Hop figures more so than rapper.
