One of my fav LL songs, was LL really cool with AZ,Po, and Rich Porter?

yeah... it aint like all these dudes are dead and gone... Az and Alpo wouldve came out and said i dont know that n1gga if it wasnt true

dj Kayslay and Alpo went to school together.... Slay wouldnt put no fake sh1t on his mixtape like that if LL was lying

Rap and Gangland: Drugs, Guns, Hustle and Flow « Gorilla Convict

Alberto “Alpo” Martinez, Rich Porter and Azie Faison were teenage drug lords from 1980s Harlem. Their flashy styles influenced rappers like LL Cool J, who wrote a whole album, Walking with the Panther, about hanging out with them and street culture in general. The teenage drug lords were trendsetters of epic proportions. From crack cocaine kingpins to inner-city legends, the trends Alpo and Rich Porter set still resonate today. With the Gucci leather suits, fur coats and chains, rappers from LL to Cam’ron have bit their style and made them iconic in hip-hop.

My stepmom knew Rich Porters sister, I just thought LL probably seen them around, didn't know he was really vibin with them like that, thats pretty ill. Po is a free man now from what I heard, even heard he was at a Wizards game a few years back, is there any info to his whereabouts now?

Didn't really know the whole story to it, I knew the story of them knowing Dougie Fresh, and Brucie B. Just wanted to get into detail about them and LL. Wasn't doubting him

Why do you clowns always have to compare whats better then what? :why:

Why can't you just accept the music for what it is, they both do what they do for what it's made for and have their place.

Word. I think that comparing shyt is just apart of hip-hop, though. People been doing it forever. I, sometimes, get frustrated by how people do it but I think we all probably do it to some extent.

My uncle was telling me a story about how LL came to LA in the 80s and got his chain snatched. He had to get some NY street dudes to buy it back. Not sure if it was Black or Alpo or anyone like that though.

Yup...I mean even when u listen to Memory lane and stuff before that u can see the mix of hip hop with notorious cats from the street.

People prolly missed that when DMX made "Get at me Dog" he even referenced chilling with cats in Baltimore.
