Ofcourse Banks is lyrical spitter like Fab and Cassidy. You have to listen to the word to get the full effect, but neither Fab,nor,Cass, nor Banks is at DMX level in terms of class. DMX is a high level artist when its all said and done. They guys Scoop mentioned and DMX are in a different class to Banks. Even though and I feel like I have to say it once again Banks is lyrical dude. He wont just tell you that he smokes a lot of weed or that he's really high no he'll tell you that lately he has been going through more trees than an Orangutan. He has been known for being nice.

No he doesn't. Canibus from 1997-2000 was a lyrical highlight reel. Canibus has more moments between Beast From the East, Desperados, Buckingham Palace than most people have in their entire careers.

As it's been said, X battled Jay face to face. And, at the very least, held his own. In addition to appearing alongside numerous 90's rappers in their prime and again....holding his own.

Like I said X can't rap like that no more.
Every time he shows back up, it's lackluster drug induced lazy bars. Skill wise banks can perform like his prime or close too it.

I think people are overreacting to this honestly. I take it as DMX being completely unaware of Banks music outside of a couple of singles, and hearing him as a lyricist just threw him off. Like I know I used to say "Wayne was lyrical" when I was in college (this is during Carter 1 era) and nikkas was like "The fukk is you talking about?", because they only knew him for the Hot Boys shyt. Then 3-4 years later, everyone had him as this GOAT type MC. I think it's X being more unfamiliar with Banks, that's why he asked Scoop to quote some bars to impress him.

How is he unfamiliar with him yet according to Banks DMX asked him to come to the studio and work with him.
