And Banks had to rely on Eminem and 50 at the primes of their fame, to barely outsell DMX who was (then) retiring. And he only did it once. 2 times platinum was the norm back then for Hov, Kanye, and even Nelly.

FNO is technically a mixtape but so what? Because he didn’t release it as an album it can’t be a classic? I don’t think so because that shyt is a CLASSIC body of work period. shyt is cohesive all the way through with top level rapping and gems dropped on every verse.
