banks not even a top 5 punchline rapper from his era. he was never the punchline king.
banks was the chit but he benefited greatly from being on g-unit. most of these dudes that swear by him on these internet rap forums, wouldnt even be listening to him if he wasnt g-unit and affiliated with shady/aftermath.
on the flipside, he provided the bars that g-unit wouldve otherwise lacked, especially for that mixtape era time period. he was low-key alot of peoples' favorite member, in the group/crew setting at least. but theres about 20-30 other guys who couldve easily been plugged into his spot and half of them wouldve went further with that machine behind them.
banks was my man tho. i liked banks. hes my favorite g-unite member but hes no all-time great.
I think because he put Banks in-between Slick Rick , KRS and Big L it through him off.
...but then again I did hear Drake in that list as well

if DMX waited a couple more seconds, he wouldve went off about drake instead, and this thread wouldve never existed. instead we'd have a 60 page thread about DMX chitting on drake.
I’m not gonna go so far as to say “old corny punchlines” but I agree w/ the bold and can understand X taking umbrage to banks being included amongst those other names in terms of lyricism
