I think ppl just wanna hear a more diverse project. COTI 1 and 2 sound wise aren’t that far off from the FNO series. You can put his last 4 projects on shuffle and not really hear too much of a difference
He clearly ain’t tryna give us too many of the “fell in love” tempo style tracks, but I think ppl are mostly ready for him to work with better producers and be mixed better where you can hear him clearer on his own projects
If he sticks to his routine of dark grimey shyt but did it over Harry Fraud and Alchemist beats, I bet it’d get way more praise
And I saw someone earlier explaining banks prolly wants that dirty sound.. he prolly does but there’s more to it. Common replies I see are at certain points you can’t understand what he’s saying. He definitely needs his vocals mixed better. Like I said in my previous post, listen to how he sounds on Vado’s features clarity wise compared to his own projects

Twitter fans are trash for the most part but I feel where they’re coming from. Socialize and Fell In Love are two of the cuts from COTI2 I bump the most and those are the two that are less dark and where his flow has some energy to it.
But you gotta trust the artist. The first COTI was all dark gritty shyt too and the first half of that album is fukking piff imo.

I'm a big Banks fan but COTI didn't hit me the same as previous projects. It's just where he is in his life right now
I will say though we were robbed of a classic in CC3. Even if it comes out now it'll be completely different. No more HOH tracks from Banks for us single nikkas smashing bytches

How is Meth still rapping like this after 30+ years in the game?
Meth kills everything he touches, he's been on a hell of a run for the last few years.
His clarity and charisma really outshine Banks on this.
Gotta be honest this is probably the first banks record I really don’t like. Maybe it’s the beat. Idk I don’t WANNA listen to it again though
