I consider myself somewhat of an audiophile and I swear unless Apple Music didn't update, I can't tell a difference here. The album sounds to me like it always has. Roc's verse still sounds like it's in a tin can.

nah, i almost fell out my chair thinking about duke earlier comment in this thread … nikka still sound like he talking in his head on some Saved By the Bell shyt

















EDIT: It IS better quality and more crisp, the whole thing is overall…. Which honestly doesn’t do Banks voice any favors at all if we being honest


Maybe his shyt be intentionally not mixed to it’s best potential for that reason, cuz the same can be said about a lot of his albums post G Unit. But yeah my earlier comment about Marci’s verse still applies even with the better mixing on the COTI album

Yeah the improved mixing actually "worsens" Bank's voice. Smh. I think I prefer the original version for that reason.

The "Marci sounds like he's rapping from the inside of his head" comment is top 5 most hilarious thing I've read on the coli. That's exactly how his verse sounds.

Been bumping this album again recently. Still dope as fukk to me. First half is damn near classic and imo the second half slacks off a bit. Could’ve benefited from some beat changes on songs like pressure, pain and paranoia, panic, and smoke and mirrors. Or some flow switch ups. Banks did his thing but you hear KD2 from Nas and the beat switch ups really keep the listener engaged.

granted Nas has a once in a lifetime type producer guiding his project along with just being the GOAT while Banks builds his shyt on his own, but that’s just my thought. Album is still dope yo me, prob like a 4.25. I got it as slightly better than Doe or Die 2 but not as good as KD2.
