SINY!!
Hopefully he gets a decent mix this time around. I still enjoyed the last album a lot but if you play it right after something else, the vocal quality is noticeable

Is there some sort of NYC sound engineer mafia that forces Banks, Styles and Cam to record so poorly?

Agreed. There were albums I've enjoyed but they fell short IMO because the mixing/mastering was underwhelming.

Can someone explain to me why Banks brings out the armchair managers/A&Rs so heavy?

Any thread about him just gets flooded with an endless number of "Banks needs to work with big name producers," "Banks needs to shoot videos and do interviews," "Banks release X didn't move the needle, the masses don't care" type posts. Is it just because people believe he could have/should have seen more success than he did? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Banks work with dudes like Havoc, Alchemist, etc. but isn't it obvious at this point that he raps and records for the love of the art, and has little interest in fame or the business side of the rap game?

Idk but when I say Banks needs to work with Alchemist and Havoc it’s cuz I like their shyt. I also never got the “he needs to film music videos” angle either just because I don’t think music videos are moving the needle like that in 2022.

Hopefully it’s not all unknown producers, don’t want the entire project sounding dull.
This!

And this is why we always suggest producers for him. I’d love to hear Banks on Harry Fraud, Havoc, etc…. There’s only 1 Banks/Alchemist track. All these dudes make more polished production of the style Banks chooses to rap over, so what’s the issue with wishful thinking if you’re a fan?

Aside from what I posted above, some times it’s dope seeing artists actually push their material like the old days. I haven’t heard Banks speak outside of Twitter or COTI in years… it’d prolly be a dope listen to hear him on a podcast and actually hear where his head is at and hear him personally say why he does things the way he does instead of us assuming why and the ppl to the left criticizing the lack of interviews/videos and the ppl to the right praising why he don’t have to

It’s always either been 50 speaking for him, 50 forcing him to speak or silence… I like when ppl do podcasts n shyt to talk to us

I liked this project but he needs to branch out a bit more. He can’t expect to be noticed with low budget features or beats.

It’s so annoying. nikkas dont like Banks’ sound, go listen to somebody else.

It’s like nikkas want Banks’s to be a completely different artist then what got him to this point. I want COTI2 to sound exactly COTI. Smh.

I can see this POV, but I think what cats be discussing is being misinterpreted wrong

The ones who a fan of Banks ain’t sayin they don’t like the sound, they just think he could use better producers to do the sound, that’s why Alchemist and Havoc are always brought up

On the contrary, there are ppl that don’t wanna listen cuz he ain’t rappin over trap beats…. That ain’t his style so I scroll past those replies

Exactly the foolery im talking about. The want Banks in a business suit. He’s never rapped over those kind of beats, or worked with “in” producers like that.

When I play a banks mixtape or album from 5 and Better and beyond, i expect to hear dope lyrics over gritty nyc street beats. Thats exactky what i got out of coti. This is Banks style. nikkas need to find some other shyt to bytch about. COTI was a masterpiece.
