This project needs to be flawless. If not people are gonna write him off for good. This is why it's not good to put yourself in a box by starving fans or the world any type of new material.
I think as long as it’s solid it’ll be fine. If it’s on the level as his last few mixtapes people will be cool. I’m one of the ones that complains about Banks, but if I keep coming back, I bet others will.

I mean honestly, do you think anyone checking for Banks in 2021 will just never listen again if this new project isn’t flawless?

You might be right. I just tend to think if someone is gonna even check out COTI at all, then they will probably check for whatever is after that.

He's taking a minute with this one.

Kinda feeling like the pressure's on to drop classic shyt. Banks is my dude, but his career is a little cold these days. So he needs to hit people with something that's going to re-light that spark for him. He doesn't have the luxury to be chillin' right now. People need that music.

When someone holds back to release projects all it does is add extra pressure to pass people’s high expectations. I’m definitely gonna check for it since I’m a fan. It’s just not good to keep holding back.

all valid points, here’s my response tho:

1) Lil Wayne, Fabolous, T.I., Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Royce Da 5’9”, Styles P, Juicy J, Fat Joe and Jim Jones are all rappers from the early 90s to early 2000s still dropping music every 1-2 years with enough features in between.. my argument with Banks is that he’ll literally disappear and leave his fans hanging until Vado or Griselda make him rap again

2) he wasn’t off G Unit when he made the HH2 videos because Eif Rivera directed them.. thats 50 right hand man so you can tell 50 influenced that... even the videos like Big Bully were directed by 50... this is where I give Banks and Hovain credit for this new rollout because this is the first time since Banks left 50 that he’s doing more than just dropping the music on DatPiff then going on hiatus

3) yeah you can tell he doesn’t make music for money... I think he could’ve established a 2nd resurgence if he released that Gangsta Grillz over the trap beats but he had too much pride to release it

I’ll give him a pass for the break he took when he had 2 kids tho lol but I would’ve been satisfied if he finished the At Your Request series or gave us CC3 anyway... us Banks fans take whatever we can get at this point. He could’ve dropped the full 80s Baby track at least lol

T.I.? Before 2001...Juicy J? Royce before 2001? He is the definition of stay in your lane...Banks started with 134 Allstars and wrote for 50 first G unit mixtape 50 cent is the future came out in 2001 he was writing and doing 134 shyt before that id say 99-2000. Can't name 10 strictly rap cats still releasing music that started in late 90's or prior to 2001.
